nation和country的区别

country着重指疆土、国土、家园，加the可以表示国民。nation着重指人民，可译成“民族”、“国民（总称）”。nation 和 country有含义、用法和侧重点三个方面的区别：

nation和country的区别

1、含义不同

nation名词意思是国家、民族、国民、政府。

country作名词时除了有国家、国民的意思外，还有乡下的意思，而 nation 没有这种意思。

2、用法不同

nation 有相应的形容词形式，即 national。

country 没有相应的形容词形式，若需用于名词前作定语，可直接用名词形式。但此时它通常不表示国家，而表示乡村。

3、侧重点不同

country 意思为国家时，侧重疆土或人口，是指一个国家的山川大地等自然地理特征。

nation 意思为国家时，侧重民族、国民（总称），是指生活在某一片土地上的族群，是某一特定人群在某种文化意义上的共同体。

两个都是名词，意义区别重点在于义项的侧重点不同。
